Victory Quarry (~ 1  mile)

• An old quarry that has been turned into a beautiful area with lakes for walking and private fishing

Buxton (2 miles)

• Pavillion Gardens

• Poole's Caverns and Buxton Country ParkPeters Stone

Hay Dale, Peters Dale and Monks Dale

Lovely walks down these Dales. The Pennine way path is only 1.6 miles from Peak Dale and from there you can walk through Hay Dale, Peters Dale and Monks Dale. Or you can drive down to the car park and Millers dale and walk from Monks Dale. 

 

 

Peters Stone and Cressbrook Dale

Lovely walks and great scenery only a short drive from Meadow House. 

 

Monsal Trail (5 miles)

• Great cycle route 

• Excellent for walking

• Lots of paths off the main trail to nature reserves and river walks

 

Mam Tor

Only 15 minute drive to Mam Tor and a short walk to the summit for amazing views of the Peak District

Errwood & Fernilee Reservoir, Goyt Valley (7 miles)

• An magical, beautiful area with many outstanding walks

 

Castleton (8 miles)

• Blue John Caverns

• Winnats Pass

 

Bakewell (13 miles)

• Historic market town on the river Wye

• Lovely river walks

• End of Monsal trail and near Monsal Head

 

 

Stanage Edge (16miles)

• An impressive gritstone escarpment and a popular location for outdoor rock climbing

• Very scenic views and easy walks on top of the edge
